Our starting cost for a cake covered in smooth buttercream, spackled buttercream or a naked cake: $6.50 / slice*
Textured buttercream, applied décor, and/or painted design are additional.

Our cakes can go as high as 6 tiers, sizing strictly depends on your final guest count. Each tier is approx. 5"-5 1/2" tall.

--Each tier may be a different flavor combination, however, we strongly encourage you to pick two flavor combinations (i.e. dark chocolate salted caramel and carrot) for a 50/50 divide of flavors. This makes things easier for you and your guests to choose and it makes your caterers very happy.

Prices vary for fondant decorations, chocolate decorations, color buttercream, gum paste flowers, monograms, and/or any other elaborate detail work.

How does this work?

We design your cake from a verbal/written description using inspiration from your invitation, dress, photograph, sketches, or Pinterest pins. For more inspiration please see our gallery. We are a custom wedding cake company, we strongly encourage clients to get creative in creating a wedding cake that represents you as a couple and/or matches the overall theme of the wedding.

How do I schedule a consultation?

To schedule a consultation and cake tasting, please fill out the Contact form. Consultation and cake tastings are $60 for up to one hour, you may choose 3-4 flavors that you would like to try. You will get 4 cake bites in each flavor.

How soon should I place my order?

Big Sky Bakery is owned & operated locally; we are not a factory production bakery. We recommend securing your date as soon as possible as we are limited to the number of wedding cakes we can make each weekend. To secure your date, we require a non-refundable 25% deposit.

Do I have to pay for my order in advance?

A 25% deposit is required to secure your date. It is non-refundable. The prices quoted are firm. Cake design, guest count, flavors and 50% are due six weeks prior to the wedding. Final payment is due 2 weeks prior to the wedding. Elaborate sugar designs need to be finalized 6 weeks ahead. We recommend deciding what you can (i.e; design & flavor combos) as early as possible, this yields better end results and is less stressful for you in the long run.

What form of payment do you accept?

We accept cash or check. Credit cards will include a 4% convenience fee.

Do you deliver?

Yes. Price varies on distance and complexity of onsite set up.

Can I pick up my cake?

Pickups are welcome (at your own risk, for cakes with only 1, 2 or 3 tiers), we will have everything assembled and show you how to carry and load properly.

What if I want fresh flowers or ribbon on my wedding cake?

Fresh flowers are to be supplied by the florist. Either the florist or Big Sky Bakery will place them on the cake at the venue. Please be sure to communicate with both the florist & us about floral placement.

We ask that you provide the ribbon so you can choose the exact color. We will let you know exactly how much you will need for your specific cake.

Do you provide cake stands?

We do have some available for rent. If using a cake stand, the diameter will need to be at least 3"-4" bigger than the bottom tier of your cake.
